As Deportations Surge, New Comienzos Offers Vital Programs to Help Deportees Rebuild and Avoid Illegal Reentry

Amid rising deportations, New Comienzos, led by Israel Concha, offers a powerful program to equip deportees with essential skills, jobs, and new opportunities in Mexico

As U.S. immigration policies grow stricter, the looming threat of mass deportations puts hundreds of thousands of Mexican nationals at risk. For those deported or choosing to return, New Comienzos NGO, led by Israel Concha, offers transformative support to help them rebuild lives, secure jobs, and pursue the American Dream in Mexico.

A Growing Crisis

With potential mass deportations on the horizon, nonprofits are preparing for a new wave of returnees. However, the Mexican government’s response has been limited. Since 2015, New Comienzos has advocated for action to support deportees despite facing obstacles from tax regulations that burden nonprofit work in Mexico.

Renewed Hope Under President Claudia Sheinbaum

President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration brings new optimism. New Comienzos is collaborating with key government agencies on a comprehensive support plan, with New Comienzos Basecamp at its heart. Although no specific actions have been implemented yet, New Comienzos remains committed to meaningful change for returnees.

Basecamp: Empowering Returnees to Thrive

Basecamp provides training in digital technologies, entrepreneurship, and English proficiency, equipping individuals in both the U.S. and Mexico with skills to secure bilingual jobs or launch businesses. By focusing on in-demand skills, Basecamp prepares participants for today’s economy, offering job placement and mentorship to support successful reintegration.

A Bipartisan Solution for the U.S.

New Comienzos seeks bipartisan support for Basecamp. Republicans may view it as a solution to immigration challenges, while Democrats could see it as a humane response to the deportation crisis. The program offers a balanced approach, reducing illegal immigration while boosting Mexico’s economy.

Support the 2025 Basecamp Cohorts

To make this vision a reality, New Comienzos has launched a fundraising campaign for the 2025 Basecamp program. Donations will fund training, mentorship, stipends, and resources to support deportees’ successful reintegration into Mexico’s economy.

Conclusion: Turning Crisis into Opportunity

Though mass deportations pose a serious challenge, New Comienzos Basecamp offers a hopeful, long-term solution. Together, we can turn this crisis into an opportunity to empower individuals for a better future in Mexico.

“With your support, we can help deportees rebuild their lives with dignity — without fearing a return to the U.S. undocumented. Let’s transform this struggle into a story of strength and opportunity.” — Israel Concha, Founder & Executive Director of New Comienzos
