Tunnel Projects, an artist-led initiative dedicated to promoting diverse artistic narratives, is thrilled to announce its exciting lineup for Art Week, starting on December 6th, 2023. With a rich tapestry of art exhibitions, installations, and programming, they’re inviting enthusiasts to join them in amplifying the work of these artists and celebrating their contributions to the community.
“Woven Ecologies” – A Group Show
On December 6th, Tunnel Project’s survey room will host the inauguration of the group show titled “Woven Ecologies.” Curated by artist, designer, and architect Cornelius Tulloch, this exhibition showcases the works of Tull Yard, Nada Wolff, Smith Durogene, Jevon Brown, Margo Hannah, and Jahneen Leslie. “Woven Ecologies” explores the intricate relationship between humanity and Miami’s built and natural environments, illuminating how lived experiences become an integral part of the city’s urban fabric. In a world grappling with cultural erasure, this exhibition focuses on the power of storytelling, archiving, and preserving Black and Caribbean narratives as acts of resistance and envisioning possible futures.
“An Archive is a Space for Gathering” – FlowerShop Collective
Tunnel Projects is proud to introduce its debut pop-up format in collaboration with their friends at FlowerShop Collective, a renowned organization based in Brooklyn. The exhibition, “An Archive is a Space for Gathering,” delves into the intriguing concept of archiving oral histories and questions its feasibility. Through a diverse range of artistic mediums, including audio recordings, mixed media paintings, sculptures, and more, their talented artists explore the intangible, the stories passed down through generations, and the emotions they evoke. Each artist offers a unique perspective on how they archive the whispered narratives of their environments.
‘I know my pain because you do’ by Rafael Lucas at Touche Boutique
For those seeking a more intimate art experience, Tunnel Project’s Touche Boutique will continue to show its regular programming, this month, offering people an installation by artist Rafael Lucas.
