“German Advanced Manufacturing Enterprises’ Tour in Chongqing” Starts Today

A significant event focusing on strengthening Sino-German collaboration in advanced manufacturing and jointly boosting the development of Chongqing’s “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system is set to unfold. On November 11, the “German Advanced Manufacturing Enterprises’ Tour in Chongqing” event was officially inaugurated with the theme “Sino-German Cooperation, Glimpse the Future in Chongqing.” The event witnessed participation from 201 German guests, including representatives from the German Embassy in China, official German economic authorities, economic representative offices from various federal states, and German enterprises.

The event was sponsored by the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission and the Chongqing Branch of China CITIC Bank, in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce in China and Siemens (China) Co., Ltd.

The sponsors announced that over the two-day period, German guests will engage in comprehensive engagement and cooperative discussions with their Chinese counterparts. These include representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, various district and county governments and relevant departments in Chongqing, CITIC Group, and Chongqing enterprises.

According to the scheduled activities, on the afternoon of November 11, German guests are organized into five groups to conduct on-site investigations of industrial developments in various areas of Chongqing. The first group specifically visits the Changan Automobile Global R&D Center and the Seres Auto Super Factory in Liangjiang New Area to inspect the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry. The second group progresses to the BASF MDI wholly-owned production base and CNCEC Hualu New Materials Co., Ltd. in Changshou District to delve into the advanced materials industry. The third group visits the new factory of Bosch Hydrogen Powertrain Systems (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. in Jiulongpo District to study the intelligent equipment industry. The fourth group visits the Chongqing Inland Opening-up Exhibition Hall and Chongqing Vehicle Import Port in Shapingba District to evaluate the logistics industry. The last group explores the biomedical industry at the Chongqing International Biological City situated in Banan District and Zein Biotechnology Co., Ltd., inside the Western (Chongqing) Science City of the Chongqing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

On November 12, an industrial cooperation conference will be held, during which a list of high-quality development opportunities and application scenarios for Chongqing’s industries will be announced. Concurrently, a collective signing ceremony for key projects will take place, including a memorandum of cooperation between the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission and Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. Moreover, 13 projects such as the Runxin Fund Project, co-established by Fuling District, Chongqing Yufu Holding Group, and China Securities, will be signed. Six newly established institutes, including the joint laboratory between Continental China Software and System Development Center (Chongqing) Co. Ltd. and the Chongqing Elite Institute of Engineering at Chongqing University, will be awarded plaques. Several distinguished guests from China and Germany will deliver keynote speeches and engage in high-level discussions.

On the afternoon of the same day, a face-to-face event titled “Hidden Champions and SRDI (specialized, refined, differential, innovative)” will occur. Several executives from low-profile German companies with high performance, recognized as “hidden champions,” will engage in in-depth dialogues with professionals from Chongqing-based SRDI companies to share insights on enterprise development. In addition, a “Germany-Chongqing Enterprises Targeted Matchmaking Conference” will be held. Officials from multiple districts and counties in Chongqing, as well as representatives from both German and Chinese companies, will participate in discussions to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
