A Story of Courage and Triumph Against the Odds: Gurinder Abrol Releases the 2nd Edition of Her Autobiography, Thorny Life
Gurinder Abrol’s inspiring autobiography, “Thorny Life (2nd Edition),” is a powerful story of resilience, determination, and triumph in the face of adversity. This second edition offers new insights and updates on her life’s challenges and victories, showing that even after life’s toughest moments, there is always hope.

The first part of Thorny Life covers Gurinder’s early years, detailing her life from birth in 1964, through her struggles with cerebral palsy after contracting the condition at just 15 months old. In ten candid chapters, Gurinder describes her experiences, including growing up with a disability, her drive to live an independent life, and her many accomplishments, such as learning to drive, getting married, and earning a BA in Media, Culture, Society, and Sociology from The University of Birmingham. Despite facing numerous hardships, including the departure of her husband and the loss of her father. Gurinder’s story reflects a relentless pursuit of happiness and success.

In the second part, which is the key addition to the 2nd Edition, Gurinder opens up about the transformative period in her life after turning fifty, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Now reliant on an electric wheelchair and receiving daily support from carers. Gurinder continues to battle the challenges brought on by her condition. She candidly discusses the difficulties of dealing with the medical system, struggling to receive adequate physiotherapy and the toll the disease has taken on her daily life. Yet, even in the face of MS, Gurinder finds ways to keep her spirits up, whether it’s volunteering at her local library, enjoying nature at Sandwell Valley, or continuing to connect with her community.

The 2nd Edition of Thorny Life adds a fresh layer of depth to Gurinder’s already remarkable story, showing readers that perseverance doesn’t end with one victory, it’s a lifelong journey. Her candid storytelling and indomitable spirit make this book a must-read for anyone looking for an inspirational tale of overcoming life’s most difficult challenges.

The book has already received high praise. Pacific Book Review calls Thorny Life “a story of immense courage and perseverance, and an inspiration to anyone who has been struck down by an unfair world… Gurinder reminds us that positive change requires only perseverance and time.
