NHU Attended the 10th ICGC, Seeking for Sustainable Development

From October 19th to 21st, the 10th IUPAC International Conference on Green Chemistry (ICGC), co-hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society, the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development Committee of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) was successfully held at the Beijing International Convention Center with the theme of “Green Chemistry for a Sustainable Future”.

As one of the key sponsors, NHU participated in the conference and set up a booth, which attracted a large number of global experts, scholars, university faculty and students, as well as industry professional to exchange ideas, focusing on the latest developments in green chemistry and the opportunities for cooperation and growth.

On October 19, Mr. Li Haoran, Honorary Dean of NHU’s Research Institute, presented an overview of NHU’s business sectors, development trajectory, and green chemistry initiatives at the conference, allowing more chemists to learn about the company. Additionally, he delivered an academic report, where he shared his latest research in the field of green chemistry and offered innovative ideas for green oxidation reactions of transition metals without the need for catalysis.

NHU has consistently embraced the principles of green development from raw materials to finished products, focusing on “reducing carbon emissions, effectively utilizing resources, and promoting the circular economy”. We have ventured into emerging strategic industries, such as new materials and bio-fermentation, driving the industry towards a green, low-carbon, and sustainable bio-economy. In addition, NHU prioritizes reducing carbon emissions across the entire product life cycle, aiming to protect the shared home of humanity.

The ICGC serves as a platform for fostering communication and collaboration between academia and industry. During this event, NHU showcased its capabilities, shared the latest scientific findings with peers in the industry, and gained fresh insights and knowledge. Looking ahead, NHU remains committed to the principles of openness and collaboration, working closely with global partners and experts to explore the frontiers of science and technology, with the aim to further the development of green chemistry and contribute solutions toward achieving sustainable development goals.
