From September 12th to 17th, the SS2025 Beijing Fashion Week, with nearly a hundred online/offline events held at the most popular fashion and cultural landmarks in Beijing, displayed a tremendous momentum in leading the new trend of urban consumption and stimulating high-quality development of fashion industry in the capital city.
China-Chic creativity, new designs debut and trendy art in this week’s fashion shows, coming from famous brands and designers at home and abroad, brought us wonderful ideas and excellent performance. In admiring the new designs and techniques such as Chinese qipao, watered gauze, intangible-cultural-heritage wax printing, and handmade plant dyeing, we fully enjoyed the charisma of traditional Chinese textile craftsmanship, which was enriched by the refreshing ethnic and cultural elements such as Peking Opera, Tibetan costume and ornaments, and Xinjiang Atlas silk, showcasing the trendy integration between fashion and culture.
Chinese young designers, graduated from the UK Royal Academy of Arts or the London School of Fashion, the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design or the Parsons School of Design, their vibrant and great potential turned into exquisite pieces on models at the “Youth Designer Support Program Special Show”, a special arrangement for this season’s Beijing Fashion Week.
The technological elements of the Fashion Week were highlighted by the 2024 China Fashion Economy Forum with its in-depth analysis and insights on AIGC-related disciplinary development, technological innovation and software/hardware upgrade. Another two unforgettable events, the digital and virtual fashion show with the theme of “Echoes of Space Time”, and the photography competition with the theme of “Nonlinear Growth – Way to Unknown”, opened a smart chapter of “technology empowering fashion”.
The “WEEK UP” segment at the Beijing Fashion Week made an extra move by making its debut at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services, giving the audience an opportunity to see cutting-edge designs came from nearly 100 brands, some of which are time-honored brands and fashion producers, and some of the designs have gone viral on the internet. The “Fashion Enjoyment Festival” held in 20 large shopping malls in Beijing added more energy and vitality into this eventful week, which is indeed an immersive cultural experience for consumers to enjoy while shopping and entertaining.
In the middle of the accelerated construction of Beijing as a global center of consumption and the empowered rejuvenation of the capital city, the SS2025 Beijing Fashion Week, with its internal momentum and external release, is becoming a multi-dimensional driving force for sustainable development of the fashion industry in the new era.
