The total volume of overseas Chinese resources has significantly increased, bridging communication between domestic and international communities in providing business opportunities, facilitating funds, offering consulting, and supplying talents, making it an important force in the global community of shared future.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China, the “Yuniao Cup” Overseas Chinese Youth Cross-Cultural Short Video Contest is being launched globally. Submission Requirements:
There are no language restrictions for the submissions. If the video contains a foreign language, it must include bilingual subtitles (both the foreign language and Chinese). The video should be at least 60 seconds long and no longer than 300 seconds. Any filming device is acceptable, including mobile phones, cameras, and camcorders. The video must have been created since the beginning of 2024. The video file should have a resolution of no less than 1920*1080. Accepted formats include MP4, AVI, MKV, RMVB, MOV. The video can be filmed in either horizontal or vertical format, with aspect ratios of 16:9 or 9:16.

It will also showcase Yuhang’s beautiful life, new quality productive forces, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among civilizations. The goal is to enhance overseas Chinese youth’s ideological identity and cultural belonging.

[Submission Requirements]
(1) The video should explore the theme “Same Roots Across the Seas • Meeting Online”, covering Liangzhu civilization, international friendship, sharing experiences of work and life at home and abroad, as well as Yuhang’s beautiful life, new quality productive forces, cultural exchange, and mutual learning between civilizations.
(2) Videos should be in either horizontal or vertical format, with aspect ratios of 16:9 or 9:16. The video file resolution must be no less than 1920*1080.
(3) The use of online materials is generally not recommended. If used, their proportion should not exceed 10%, and sources must be credited at the end of the video. New technologies such as AIGC, hand-drawn animation, 3D animation, etc., are allowed.
(4) Submitted works must be created by the participant with full copyright ownership. Any disputes related to copyright and intellectual property are the responsibility of the participant. Xianlin Subdistrict, TideNews Media, and related partners have the right to use the submitted short videos for media promotion, publicity, and exhibition but not for commercial purposes. Submissions must have a clear theme, correct direction, healthy and positive content, unique perspective, high production quality, and must not contain any inappropriate information. Submissions must not infringe on others’ intellectual property rights; all filmed content, music used, etc., must have clear and legal intellectual property rights. Plagiarism, theft, or violation of relevant laws and regulations will result in immediate disqualification from the contest and full legal responsibility for the participant.
[Selection Method]
In the interest of fairness and impartiality, experts will review the final shortlisted works. Ultimately, awards will be given based on a combination of likes, quality of work, and expert opinions. There will be 19 awards in total, including first, second, and third prizes, as well as honorable mentions, with the highest prize being RMB 20,000.
[Special Statement]
- All short video works must ensure originality and must not plagiarize or infringe on others’ works. Works that have been publicly published or exhibited in any form are not eligible. The participant is responsible for any plagiarism or infringement issues.
- The organizer has the right to use all submitted works free of charge and is not liable for any legal disputes arising from copyright, trademark, or other issues related to the works. If such disputes arise, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participant and reclaim any awarded prizes. The participant will be responsible for compensating the organizer for any losses incurred. Once adopted, the organizer holds exclusive copyright, the right to use, and copyright registration rights for the selected works, and the submitter will no longer hold any rights to the submitted works.
