Honig, son of Holocaust survivors, depicts how a mother’s Holocaust history shapes her son’s youthful follies that come back to haunt him as history’s lessons about the rise of fascism overwhelm the aging baby boomer. Democracy and the 2024 election hang in the balance.

Its blend of historical accuracy, emotional depth, and social commentary makes it a unique and significant contribution to both literature and history.” A family saga with deep psychological insight. History, politics and law come together to reveal how the waves of catyclismic events wash over generations. The U.S. government’s complicity in the murder of the Jews in 1944 reflects an indifference to truth and justice coincident with the implosion of the Republican Party today. Antisemitism a century ago merges with the divide and conquer rhetoric creating an intolerable American schism. Honig creates characters that reflect the cause and effect of autocracy that can menace anyone.
