“I made it a priority to rise above any obstacles that were put in front of me,” says Kambala, who adds that much of her educational content online revolves around resilience training.

The Case for Resilience Training

Resilience training is programming that allows people to learn to rise above stressful situations. Whether it be short-term or long-term, resilience training when built in over time has the ability to boost productivity, free up energy and enable better performance among people and organizations as a whole.

While resilience training is often used to help disaster workers and aid people cope with stressful encounters, it can be learned by anybody to help them better navigate life’s challenges as a whole.

Maga Kambala says resilience training isn’t a specific formula. “It certainly isn’t a one size fits all,” she says.

Kambala highlights that people have different levels of resilience, sensitivity and sticking points.

“It’s important to understand what makes people tick when making coaching recommendations,” says Kambala.

She goes on to say that in all of her training both in-person and online that she refers to a large body of research and is constantly learning new things on-the-go.

“I like to delve into the journals and into the data,” says Kambala. “That’s where all the important information lies, and it’s an exciting challenge to put it into practice.”

Return on Wellbeing Institute is a company that focuses on workplace strategies that boost the bottom line, namely resilience.

Their study showed that resilience training reduced average depression symptoms by 33% to 44%, and resilience training helped participants improve their overall health and well-being, with Physical (43%), emotional (40%) and mental (38%) well-being measures all improved.

“I think there’s a great case to be made for resilience training that’s personalized and addresses the unique needs of people and organizations,” says Kambala.

Today, Maga Kambala continues to work towards building informative and helpful content and looks forward to working with new people and organizations as she makes a name for herself in the executive coaching space.

“The best part is getting to work with new people, to map the landscape of corporate bottlenecks and to help people become the best version of themselves.”
