Save the Artists Project Landed On The Moon:
Austin, TX-based artist couple Chacasso and Micah are creating a groundbreaking endeavor merging artistry and space exploration by making history aboard the Lunar Lander. This initiative seeks to leave an artistic imprint on the moon and advocate for preserving and supporting human creativity. In a cosmic convergence of artistry and innovation, an Artist couple has defied the odds by bringing their visionary project to the lunar surface. Their initiative, Save the Artists, earned them a spot among the elite ranks of artists and art entities aboard the recent lunar landing mission, claiming #143 out of 222 participants.
Their journey from the streets of Austin to the lunar landscape began as a dream 8 years ago – a dream to create what they wished existed. A place where artists and fans could come together and do great things. 8 years later, that dream has catapulted them to the moon. They are making Art & Human History.
Chacasso began his career as a full-time artist in Austin when the couple experienced a financial crisis. He turned to his wife and said, “Babe, if you paint me silver and take me downtown, I’ll keep the lights on.” She did just that, and he became known as the Silver Man on South Congress for a Summer.
One day, he came home after a long day of busking in the sun, told his wife that he saw artists selling art in the streets, and reminded her that he was an artist. However, Micah had never seen his art. He was an artist who had stopped art-ing. The next day, she woke up to five masterpieces. She was amazed at his incredible talent and made a commitment from that day forward to do everything she could to help get his art to the world.
Her background in marketing and sales kicked in, and she joined him as he performed and sold his art on the street. That soon led to them being a part of SXSW culture every year on South Congress—a popular area of Austin. It was Austin’s “Keep Austin Weird” culture that helped keep a roof over their head, and they turned SoCo into their Art Gallery every weekend for two years while raising money to open their Art Gallery & Artists Collective in 2018.
Chacasso shares, “Being on South Congress has been a huge blessing in our lives. I am getting to meet artists and fans from all over the world. I love seeing how happy art and music make people. It’s the thing that keeps us going. We love being in the middle of it, connecting, and being inspired.”
The “Save the Artists” mission is “to create a platform that celebrates art and uplifts artists by providing community and universal basic rewards. We are on a mission to do good, build community, and preserve human creativity for future generations.”
One would say the ‘Stars have Aligned’ as the moon landing happened in the weeks before the launch of their App, One of the most innovative and cutting edge Arts & Technology platforms available today.
Micah shares, “As we embark on this journey, we invite all artists and fans to join us in celebrating the beauty and power of human creativity.”
Another star has aligned as the timing coincides with the founder’s favorite time of year in Austin, TX, and the South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival In Austin, TX., on March 9 & 10th, 15th, and 16th.
As the countdown to SXSW begins, all eyes are on Austin – a city known for its vibrant arts scene and entrepreneurial spirit. With the Save the Artists App launch, the stage is set for a new chapter in the Art Renaissance, where creativity combines with community, and the possibilities are as limitless as the stars above.
SXSW has been a big part of their journey. Since 2015, they have conducted an Art Fundraiser by bringing affordable art to the streets of Austin. The SXSW Festival In Austin, TX, brings in over 300,000 art and tech enthusiasts from around the world, and Austin provides a great environment where everyone can connect and have a good time learning and celebrating creativity. This event makes it the perfect place for a kick-off event to Save the Artists.
The 2024 SXSW festival will offer participants a firsthand glimpse into the Art Renaissance unfolding within the App.
Save the Artists App promises to be a highlight of the event. People can find them on South Congress with an outdoor Gallery. Everyone who purchases art during the event will be invited to be beta testers of the App and gain exclusive access to their upcoming ‘On the Moon’ Celebration. Beta Testers will gain access to exclusive rewards, incentives, and events.
Be sure to get on the invite list by going to savetheartists.com and subscribing to their email list. They are currently conducting an open call to artists, musicians, and DJs everywhere to be part of the movement and all upcoming events as they kick off an “On the Moon” tour. The Beta testers are invited to get involved with the tour and can even vote on which cities will be included first.
Beta Testers will also experience the App firsthand and see that it’s more than just an App – it’s a sanctuary for art enthusiasts, a place of hope for emerging talent, and a testament to the transformative power of humanity. The App seeks to empower artists, amplify their voices, and create a safe place with a culture of inclusivity and compassion.
