A ceremony was held on December 28 in Wuxi, East China’s Jiangsu Province to mark the start of filming of a short video series themed around new year’s greetings from international friends.

The series titled “Good Wishes for the Year of the Dragon – New Year’s Greetings from International Friends” consists of short video episodes featuring international residents from the thirteen cities of Jiangsu Province. These individuals will extend New Year greetings to audience all over the world in a sincere manner. The series will have fourteen episodes, starting from February 10, 2024, with one episode released daily until the thirteenth day of the first lunar month. A compilation video will be released on the Lantern Festival, showcasing traditional Chinese culture and disseminate the voice of Jiangsu.
The Spring Festival, one of the oldest and the most important traditional festivals in China, is celebrated in nearly 20 countries by about a fifth of the world’s population. People from nearly 200 countries and regions experience the customs and culture of the Chinese New Year in various forms.

During the launch ceremony, guests initiated the online New Year greetings event, marking the start of filming of the short video series.
After the ceremony, the production team will travel to all thirteen cities in Jiangsu within a month. They will interview international residents from different countries and create bilingual New Year greeting videos in Chinese and English, sending sincere New Year wishes to a broad online audience.
