In 2024, the seventh CIIE will arrive as scheduled. This is a solemn commitment made by China to the world, and it is also a common agreement for China and the world to “run in both directions.” In 2018, President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo, emphasizing: “China’s proactive expansion of imports is not a stopgap measure, but a long-term consideration facing the world, facing the future, and promoting common development.”
Open up new space for development and reach new heights in scale.
The humanoid robot “Tiangong”, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, emerald feather ornaments… At the 7th China International Import Expo, the exhibition focused on artificial intelligence, deep-sea aerospace development, future networks, new energy, medical care, education, culture and other fields, showing innovation and vitality in the layout of the exhibition area and the display of exhibits, bringing innovative products, advanced concepts and outstanding achievements to many “new and old friends”. In terms of the scale of the exhibition, 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions around the world participated, including 297 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, the highest number in history; in terms of exhibited products, a new material zone was set up for the first time, and an innovation incubation zone was upgraded and built. For the first time, the exhibition focused on the four major tracks of digital economy, green and low-carbon, life sciences, and manufacturing technology, and concentrated on displaying more than 400 representative new products, new technologies, and new services. Adhering to the theme of “New Era, Shared Future”, the 7th CIIE demonstrates that China is willing to cooperate with the world for win-win results and share the future.
Work together to cultivate new quality productivity and promote high-quality development.
From new energy vehicles, unmanned driving, and low-altitude economy in the automobile exhibition area, to bronchoscope control systems, Roche’s innovative oral targeted tumor drugs, Novartis’ innovative products and cutting-edge therapies in the pharmaceutical exhibition area; from Michelin’s “Lunar Rover Airless Tire” that can adapt to the extremely harsh conditions on the moon, which is “first launched in Asia”, to GE Energy’s “first exhibition in Asia” direct air capture technology that can reduce carbon emissions; from Shanghai Nuoyin Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. and German exhibitor HIWIN GmbH signing a purchase order worth US$50 million, to Pfizer’s continued investment of US$1 billion in the next five years to implement its commitment to take root in China and deepen its roots in China with practical actions. By internalizing “in China for China” into “in China for the benefit of the world”, more and more multinational companies not only regard China as an export destination, but also as an important investment and entrepreneurship destination, helping China to cultivate new quality productivity while injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the world economy.
People must uphold the principle of a shared future for mankind, shoulder the mission of openness, and work together to share the dividends of globalization.
The world is undergoing a century of rapid change, with unilateralism and protectionism on the rise and more unstable factors. In the face of the current global development dilemma, no one can be immune. Only by unswervingly opening up and cooperating and working together can we promote global development and prosperity. Openness is the core concept of the CIIE. China uses the CIIE as an opportunity to make China’s large market a large market for the world, demonstrating China’s sincerity and vision for win-win cooperation and a shared future with the world. From the “China’s first” electric three-wheeled concept car of Yamaha Motor Company to two boxes of freshly caught aquatic products “carried” by Kiribati merchants; from Kenyan fresh avocados entering the CIIE to reap new market opportunities, to Thai jewelers coming to the CIIE seven times to keep coming; from the first six CIIEs where nearly 2,500 representative new products, new technologies and new services were unveiled, to this CIIE where more than 400 representative new products, new technologies and new services were added. Against the backdrop of sluggish world economic growth, the CIIE has burst into vitality, highlighting the confidence and trust of all parties involved in the Chinese economy and creating opportunities for emerging economies in global trade.
Looking to the future, as China’s door of opening up opens wider and wider, the circle of friends of the CIIE will continue to expand. China’s new development will surely provide more new opportunities for the world, and China’s large market will also become a great opportunity for the world.
