On 26 October, Udine will host an artistic event of great intensity: ‘Carnage’, the first solo exhibition of sculptures by Viviana Di Domenico, curated by Luca Bernardis, a refined event organiser and lover of light. The presentation is by Barbara Codogno.
Set in the evocative former Tipografia Doretti in Via Artico di Prampero 9, the exhibition transforms a historic 20th-century venue into a stage for bodies and spirits moulded in white.
Viviana Di Domenico’s sculptures, communicative and full of passion, seem to breathe beneath the cold surface, evoking a sense of physicality and intimacy that transcends the material. ‘Carnage’ is not just a celebration of sculptural strength, but a tribute to the complexity of the human condition, caught between the dichotomy of the real and the spiritual, the intimate and the explicit.
The title, powerful and provocative, suggests an artistic experience at once raw and poetic, where plaster becomes flesh and the sculptural gesture becomes a dance between strength and fragility. The works, arranged in the folds of what remains of this ancient forge of books and words, do not merely occupy the space: they transform it, establishing a dialogue with the history and experience of the place.
‘Carnage’ invites the viewer to a tactile and sensual encounter with the sculpture, where every detail becomes the bearer of a deeper meaning, revealing the tension between the visible and the invisible, between the carnal and the divine. It is a journey into the dual nature of being, where each work represents a fragment of a larger discourse on body and soul.
Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this experience, where Viviana Di Domenico’s sculpture reminds us that matter, if worked with passion and sensitivity, can become a vehicle for expressing profound emotions. ‘Carnage’ is a tribute to the beauty that comes from balancing strength and delicacy, brutality and poetry.
