Positive Patriotism: Restoring America's Values and Civic Spirit

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – “Positive Patriotism: Reigniting Our Love of Country” passionately celebrates the positive values and qualities of America and its people. Author J. David Pinkston fearlessly acknowledges the decline and the complex truth about patriotism. It is a powerful handbook that unapologetically provides a clear exposition of key contemporary conceptions of patriotism and boldly discusses the story of resilience and transformation in the face of societal change.

In his book, J. David Pinkston presents a discussion on how to lead the nation in rediscovering its path to becoming the Land of the Free. “As you read through the book, there’s a lack of gratitude or appreciation for the benefits of being in America, the incredible freedoms we enjoy, and the vast opportunities for progress and upward mobility that surpass those in other countries.”

The book presents challenges, asks tough questions, and provides answers to reclaim patriotism. Pinkston’s wise reflections direct the reader’s patriotic affections toward the civic good of others within our communities. This ambitious and engaging book aims to restore the idea of reverence to our ethical and political thought.

The poignant narrative reminds us of the principles on which America was founded. It explores the freedoms that define America, from voting to the press, and the values that have transformed its people, from empathy to inclusion to service.

J. David Pinkston is a passionate advocate of American values and personal liberty. Having served as a US Navy Captain for 32 years, he has extensive experience in various aspects of modern warfare, including submarine operations in the Pacific and special operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. David earned a BA in Political Science and Russian Studies from the University of North Texas in 1993, and later completed a master’s degree in National Security from the National Intelligence University. After retiring in March 2022, he returned to Texas, where he lives with his wife. Additionally, David is the President and Founder of Positive Patriotism LLC, an organization dedicated to promoting awareness of American military history, culture, and leadership, while advocating for greater civic responsibility.
