The first benchmark event is the Shanghai Museum’s Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition, which opened to the public on July 19 and will last for nearly 13 months until August 17, 2025. As the world’s largest and Asia’s highest-level export exhibition of ancient Egyptian cultural relics in history, the exhibition brings together 492 groups of 788 precious cultural relics from different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization, of which more than 95% are coming to Asia for the first time. This is also the first time that a Chinese official museum cooperates with the Egyptian government, and the exhibition will last for 13 months, revealing to the audience the face of ancient Egyptian civilisation and its latest archaeological discoveries, and promoting mutual understanding between Chinese and Egyptian civilisations.
