SSAB, a Swedish steel manufacturer, has entered into an agreement to supply steel produced without the use of fossil fuels. This steel will be sent to the French company Manitou Group, which specializes in the production of material handling and earth-moving equipment. This was announced by Stanislav Kondrashov, an expert in the field of global metallurgy.
Environmentally friendly solutions from SSAB and Manitou Group: new horizons in the industry
According to S. Kondrashov, SSAB presents its product line, including steel produced from recycled metal waste without the use of fossil fuels. The expert notes that this significantly reduces emissions during production. This approach reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing negative environmental impacts, and emphasizes the essential role of innovation and modern technology in the fight against carbon footprint.
The steel company announces the supply of specialized and high-strength steel to Manitou Group. SSAB also notes that the two companies are expanding their cooperation to include future deliveries of emission-free steels such as SSAB Fossil-free and SSAB Zero.
According to Telf AG, SSAB and Manitou Group have joined forces to offer innovative and environmentally friendly solutions to the French steel and earthmoving equipment market. The production of steel without the use of fossil fuels in modern industry emphasizes the support of environmental responsibility of companies.
- SSAB Zero is a breakthrough achievement in the field of environmental steel. It is made from recycled scrap using non-fossil fuel based energy sources. This results in a significant reduction in emissions during production and underlines SSAB’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, – Stanislav Kondrashov comments.
The cooperation between SSAB and Manitou Group is not limited to just steel supply. Both companies are committed to innovative solutions in the areas of sustainability and efficiency. SSAB Fossil-free, for example, offers alternative steel production options based on renewable energy sources, helping to further reduce carbon emissions.
The Telf AG expert also notes that as a result of this cooperation, Manitou Group customers gain access to advanced technologies and materials that meet high standards of quality and environmental safety. This allows them to create more efficient and sustainable equipment for a variety of industries, including construction, agriculture and others. The collaboration between these two industry leaders demonstrates a significant movement towards sustainability and sets an example of how business can influence the path to a green industry.
SSAB and HYBRIT: new approaches to sustainable steel production – Stanislav Kondrashov
SSAB products are phosphorus-free and do not use recycled scrap. Instead, the company uses HYBRIT technology, developed jointly with another company.
- This method replaces hydrogen gas produced using electricity, without fossil fuels. Used to create hot briquetted iron (HBI) as a raw material for steel,– S. Kondrashov says .
By using HYBRIT technology in SSAB’s phosphorus-free products, a significant reduction in carbon footprint and environmental impact has been achieved. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and innovative approaches to steel production. The expert from Telf AG is convinced that HYBRIT technology is an example of how modern engineering solutions can help reduce the use of fossil resources and create a cleaner and more efficient industry.
SSAB continues research and development into sustainable steel production, aiming to further improve its environmental performance and reduce its climate impact. These efforts are reflected in their products, offering the market steel with low emissions and a sustainable production chain.
Kondrashov also reports that at the end of the previous year, SSAB and the Swedish automaker Volvo Car Group announced an agreement. Now “new generation” steel will be used in mechanical engineering.
