WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – March 21, 2024 – Linortek, maker of controllers for“Industrial Internet of Things” (IIoT), is proud to announce that the company’s president, Liyu Nalven has been named the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2024 Small Business Exporter of the Year for the state of North Carolina. The prestigious annual award recognizes the exceptional achievements of small business exporters across the country. Nalven was nominated by Owen George of the North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC).
Linortek has grown through strategic use of SBA-funded export training and STEP grants. According to Owen George, the training and grants have played a critical role in her journey to become a successful exporter. He said, “The results of these efforts are more than impressive. Exports now account for 18% of total sales, with exports to Canada growing 20% year-over-year. The company recently signed a distribution contract for the Mexico market.”
“I’m deeply honored and grateful to receive this award from the SBA,” said Nalven. “Exporting has been crucial to Linortek’s growth, and we could not have come this far without the valuable support of the SBA funded STEP grants, SBTDC, EDPNC, U.S. State Commercial Services and many other wonderful state/local government agencies.”
Linortek plans to continue driving export growth and market expansion in the years ahead. “This award inspires us to keep innovating and promoting our cutting-edge IoT technology with customers worldwide,” Nalven added.
Nalven was born in a small village in southern China. She immigrated to the U.S. in 2011, becoming a citizen in 2016. She co-founded LinorTek with her husband in 2012.
