With over two decades of professional experience practicing law, Mr. Van Natten has undoubtedly established himself as a highly skilled and knowledgeable attorney. He has proven to be a dynamic and results-driven leader, successfully assisting numerous families and individuals in New Jersey who have encountered legal challenges. His service and dedication to the legal profession can be best described as aggressive and compassionate, in addition to his extensive experience.
Mr. Van Natten possesses exceptional and diverse legal expertise that enables him to assist his clients in various areas, including family law, personal injury law, municipal law, and will creation. He has a strong expertise in successfully resolving divorce cases, which includes effectively handling the division of assets and child custody matters. Mr. Van Natten has successfully obtained numerous monetary settlements for victims of personal injury resulting from motor vehicle accidents and premise liability cases. In addition, he is responsible for managing cases related to traffic violations, land use, and zoning issues. He has won appellate cases, including L.E. v. Plainfield Public School District. In addition to his legal capabilities, Mr. Van Natten also dedicates a portion of his practice to estate planning. He assists clients who need simple wills as well as those who require more intricate estate planning for their assets.
Before embarking on his professional career path, Mr. Van Natten attended Boston University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Analysis and Policy. In 2000, he completed his studies at New York Law School and earned his Juris Doctor. In addition, Mr. Van Natten was admitted to practice law by the New Jersey Bar.

In 2023, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award as well as Top Attorney of the Decade by IAOTP. He was chosen to be featured in the 2nd Edition of the Top 50 Fearless Leaders Publication by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) and he was featured on the famous Nasdaq Billboard in Times Square NYC. Additionally, he graced the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. Matthew received the Top Attorney of the Year award from the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) in 2021. Mr. Van Natten has been honored as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member of Continental Who’s Who and recognized as one of North America’s Top Attorneys in previous years. He will be honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville this December for his induction into IAOTP’s Hall of Fame.
