What is a Mini Medical School?
A Mini Medical School is a specialized educational initiative designed to introduce young children to the fascinating world of medicine and healthcare. Dr. Eric Jackson-Scott MD MPH, a local Occupational & Preventive Medicine,, has taken the initiative to launch this program in Santa Cruz County to nurture a love for learning and healthcare in children from ages 5 to 8.
What Happens at Dr. Jackson-Scott’s Mini Medical School?
Dr. Jackson-Scott’s Mini Medical School offers a hands-on learning experience for young participants. Children will have the opportunity to explore the basics of medicine, anatomy, and health in a fun and engaging way. Through interactive activities, games, and demonstrations, they will gain valuable insights into the medical field and learn about the importance of taking care of their own health.
First Program: Ages 5-8 Years Old
The inaugural program of Dr. Jackson-Scott’s Mini Medical School is open to children between the ages of 5 and 8. This age group is the perfect starting point for young minds to begin their journey into the world of healthcare.
All Kids Receive a White Coat, Stethoscope, and Graduation Certificate
As part of their participation in the program, all young attendees will receive a mini white coat and a stethoscope, symbolizing their role as “Mini Doctors in Training.” At the end of the program, each child will proudly graduate with a special certificate recognizing their dedication to learning about medicine.
Free Enrollment for Parents, Limited Space Available
Parents who wish to enroll their children in Dr. Jackson-Scott’s Mini Medical School can sign up for free. However, due to limited space, interested parents are encouraged to secure a spot for their child early to ensure participation in this exciting and educational program.
