Jared Kamrass Launches New Scholarship for Aspiring Public Servants

CINCINNATI, OH – Jared Kamrass, a leading political strategist and founder of Technicolor Political, has established a new scholarship program to support students passionate about pursuing careers in public service. The Jared Kamrass Scholarship for Public Service will provide a $1,000 award to help cover educational expenses for an exemplary undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates a commitment to making a positive difference through civic engagement.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with many talented people who entered public service to create meaningful change,” said Kamrass. “With this scholarship, I want to empower the next generation of civic leaders and help alleviate the financial burden that can deter some from pursuing this noble path.”

Jared Kamrass established the scholarship program as a way to give back and pay forward the mentorship he received as a young person exploring a career in politics. The one-time $1,000 award will be granted based on a creative essay submission of under 1,000 words answering the question, “What inspired you to pursue a career in public service, and how do you plan to use your education and skills to make a positive impact in your community and society at large?”

“We’re looking for original and insightful perspectives on the applicant’s motivations and vision for enacting change through public service,” said Kamrass. “Financial circumstances should not be an obstacle to pursuing work that improves people’s lives, so we hope this scholarship can make a meaningful difference for a deserving student.”

Jared Kamrass has dedicated his career to supporting candidates and causes with messaging that inspires action and progress. After an early passion for politics was sparked by experiences like watching The West Wing with family, a cancer diagnosis in college shifted Kamrass’ interests toward healthcare reform. Upon entering remission, he committed himself to electing policymakers who would work to end healthcare inequities.

Kamrass managed local campaigns in Cincinnati before opening his own firm, Rivertown Strategies, which grew into a leading Democratic consulting group in the Midwest. He later served as a senior advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, helping preserve a Democratic majority in the House during the tumultuous 2020 election cycle. Kamrass currently serves as Principal at Technicolor Political, the nation’s largest majority Black-owned political consulting firm.

The application deadline for the Jared Kamrass Scholarship for Public Service is December 15, 2023. The winner will be announced January 15, 2024. To be eligible, applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students in the United States who demonstrate a passion for civic engagement and public service.
