The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide was launched 18 years ago to support teens, parents, schools, and professionals to develop skills youths need. The SPTS isn’t a crisis line, nor does it provide counseling. Its strength lies in its programs. The SPTS has risen to national prominence for its innovative, progressive, and effective programs. It offers a comprehensive range of online training for educators while also educating parents. The rate of teen suicides between 2017 – 2019 per 100,000 was lower in New Jersey than the national U.S. rate, a testament to the work of the SPTS.
The 4th Annual Women of Wellness & Wonder Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 29, is a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses to gather with like-minded people to support the critical work of the SPTS. The nation’s teens are the future of the nation and the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide is working diligently to provide them with the resiliency and coping skills they need to be the leaders of tomorrow.
