February 21, 2023 – Arim Science Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Sang-in), an engineering company based in Daejeon, donated 6 indoor and outdoor fine dust measuring instruments to Pyeong-ri, Jochiwon-eup on December 28, 2022, to build a public-private-industry cooperation model for the creation of a carbon-neutral practice village.
The donation ceremony was attended by Lee Jun-bae, vice mayor of Sejong city economy, Kim Choong-sik and Lee Hyeon-jung, Sejong city councilors, Kim Jeong-seop, Jochiwon-eup mayor, Kim Buyu, head of the Sejong Social Welfare Council, and Lee Hee-gyeong, secretary general of Sejong YWCA.
This donation was prepared in accordance with the ‘Carbon Neutral Village Creation Project’ supervised by Sejong Nature’s Friend (CEO Kang Hyeong-bin) to connect the residential environment value of the village with corporate social contribution activities.
The ‘Pyeongri Carbon Neutral Practice Village’ is a public contest project to discover a ‘local community COVID-19 response environmental model’ through cooperation between the local community, local governments, and small and medium-sized enterprises, forming and operating a public-private partnership.
Previously, on September 16, 2022, the city had signed a business agreement with Sejong Nature’s Friend to establish a sustainable environmental alliance model to promote the carbon-neutral village creation project.
Arim Science Co., Ltd., which donated the fine dust meter, decided to install the meter in front of the village management office in Pyeong-ri, in front of the senior citizen center, and in the cultural garden, and actively participate in village environmental education and citizen research.
Sejong Friends of Nature also decided to produce and install an electronic notice board in the village where fine dust measurement information can be grasped in one place.
Lee Jun-bae, vice mayor of economy, said, “The establishment of a village-level initiative for private, public, and industrial environmental associations is a meaningful path to realizing carbon neutrality.”
