FreeCast is announcing a distribution deal with Triple-B Media to bring eight new channels to the newly-free streaming aggregator. The new channels primarily focus on sports, including boxing, motorcycle racing, rugby, billiards, and cornhole.
Formerly known as SelectTV, FreeCast was relaunched last month with a plethora of new features and content, while dropping the subscription paywall, making the service accessible to all consumers, with premium features available via the FreeCast+ plan.
Triple-B Media is a full-service television and digital media company behind The Rugby Network, Billiard TV, Boxing TV, Fido TV, Jai-Alai TV, MotoAmerica TV, Broadway On Demand, and ACL Cornhole TV. Each of these is a free ad-supported television (FAST) channels will be available to FreeCast’s users at no charge.
FreeCast’s Executive Vice President of Digital Content and Channel Distribution, Tracy West, discussed the value of the channels to the recently relaunched service: “Live sports used to be a big selling point of expensive pay-TV packages, and a big driver of their costs. This deal shows what our platform is able to do with that type of content. Working with Triple-B Media, we’re able to offer multiple sports channels at no cost to our users. The door is open for many sports and other live events to reach new audiences via low-cost streaming.”
