Dr DRYQIEL, Antoine Di Natale & Zaine Iqbal democratize custom facial implants by creating FACE2BE

Utilizing the latest in 3D computer designing and 3D-printing technologies, the startup Face2be makes custom facial implants accessible to all.

The 2020 Australasia award winner doctor, Dr Dryqiel, has devoted almost his entire career to cosmetic surgery. Nowadays, he is totally dedicated in making 3D-designed custom facial implants.

This type of implant is extremely expensive for customers because only a few practicians have the ability to design custom ones. It requires an extensive knowledge about 3D modeling. That’s why these are known as the ‘gold standard’ of facial enhancement. In addition to that, it can be a very time-consuming process as most of them didn’t upgrade to the latest 3D-printing technologies. While those considering out-of-box implants might pay up to $4,000 or $5,000, custom designed implants cost at least 2X or 3X that amount. Thus, almost all customers turn to conventional ready-made implants. There is however a big difference between these two procedures.

The standard out-of-the-box implant is created in a universal size: to get the most pleasing and natural outcomes possible, it is shaved by hand to adapt its shape as much as possible to the customer’s face and bone structure. The result is approximate and rarely leads to satisfying outcomes, as each face is unique.

To get through this issue, custom facial implants have been on the rise: They are designed from a 3D CT scan of the customer’s face, along with some pictures (front, ¾ and profile). By combining these elements, it’s possible to model an implant that is 100% adapted to the bones, respecting the goals that the customer wishes to obtain. The outcomes obtained from this technique are almost perfect, incomparable with the method above.

After comparing every single result achieved with both methods during his long career, Dr. Dryqiel decided to set up a structure that would democratize custom facial implants, making it accessible to all. To do so, he partnered with top entrepreneurs Antoine Di Natale and Zaine Iqbal to put together a highly experienced team of 3D-designers to create the start-up Face2be.

Face2be allows its customers to create 3D-designed custom facial implants they desire at low-cost & high-end, thanks to the latest 3D-printing technology in silicone called SAM (Silicone Additive Manufacturing). They respect every medical-legal standards and use medical-grade biocompatible silicone. The company carries out all the pre-operative steps when it comes to designing & 3D-printing the implant with its customers. Concerning prices, as an example, they are around 1700 euros for a wraparound jawline implant. The difference in price between a standard implant and a custom one has become derisory, thanks to Face2be.
