Government Blockchain Association (GBA) establishes its French Chapter, with Professor Olivier Bossard as its Chapter Lead

The Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is pleased to announce a new France Chapter, headed by Professor Olivier Bossard as its Chapter Lead.

Gerard Dache, executive director of GBA globally, welcomed the news: “Olivier has been a supportive member of GBA for some time, and we welcome his formal appointment as France Chapter Lead. France is well known internationally as a hub for Fintech, and it is great to see developing an active GBA chapter in France, under Olivier’s leadership.

Shiv Aggarwal, Regional Director of GBA for the EMA region, commented on Olivier’s appointment: “Olivier has a great experience in leading collaborative groups at the crossroads of education and new industries. His reputation on the academic side, in the French FinTech ecosystem, as well as on the public policy-making side will help us develop the understanding and implementation of blockchain technologies on the continent.”

Olivier Bossard is a world-renowned Professor of Finance, teaching at HEC Paris Business School, Hitotsubashi University (Japan) and Tsinghua University (China). Since 2016, he is the Executive Director of HEC Paris’ MSc Finance program. He has led numerous Masterclasses on Blockchain technology, across Paris, Beijing, Tokyo and Qatar. Olivier Bossard participated in the “Blockchain and Competencies” workshop at the French Parliament lower house (Assemblée Nationale) and animated the “Digital transformation, FinTech, and Artificial Intelligence” conference in Tokyo on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan.

He received the Best Professor Award from HEC Paris Business School in 2019.

Olivier will take the lead in establishing meaningful engagement for individuals and organizations (government, private, and nonprofit) who are interested in developing and implementing blockchain technology within France, with a very specific focus on respecting ESG criteria. He will also assist the GBA Regional Director for EMEA, Mr. Shiv Aggarwal, with partnering with local communities throughout the entire European continent.

The GBA is an international nonprofit professional association with members located in 75+ countries. GBA’s focus is on cultivating professional workflows between technologists, public policy makers, application specialists, and those who want to learn about new and emerging digital currencies. Furthermore, GBA acts as a catalyst in creating a public dialogue around the creative, profitable, and positive use of blockchain technology at the intersection of government, finance, and the law.
