Toronto Author Shaun Goldsmith to Attend Biblio Bash Featuring Critically Acclaimed Debut Thriller "The Spire"

Toronto, ON – April 2, 2025 – Award-winning Canadian author Shaun Goldsmith will be among the celebrated writers featured at the Toronto Public Library Foundation’s 2025 Biblio Bash, held Thursday, April 3, at the iconic Toronto Reference Library. This black-tie fundraiser—known as one of the most anticipated literary events in the city—brings together business leaders, philanthropists, bestselling authors, and passionate library supporters for a meaningful night in support of the most-used public library system in North America.

Goldsmith, whose debut novel The Spire has drawn critical acclaim and a loyal readership, will join a roster of celebrated authors, including New York Times bestselling writer Carley Fortune. Donations raised at the event will directly benefit programs and partnerships focused on the social health and mental wellness of teens across Toronto. Since its founding in 1997, the Toronto Public Library Foundation has raised over $117 million thanks to the generous donors and partners.

Goldsmith, who is making waves with his sharp prose and emotionally resonant storytelling, shared his thoughts ahead of the event: “We all recognize the division in today’s world. But books and libraries bring people together. Be it for a love of reading, to study and learn, or to find a sense of community. An event such as this reminds us why that matters. For that reason, if for no other, Biblio Bash is so important.” He added: “It’s a real privilege to be included among so many incredible authors, from Canada and around the world, each telling their own unique story.”

The evening will be hosted by Elamin Abdelmahmoud, author and host of CBC Radio’s Commotion, and promises to be an unforgettable gathering for literary lovers with purpose at its heart. To learn more about Biblio Bash 2025 visit bibliobash.ca.
