A Milestone in Oncology Care Education: Society for Oncology Esthetics Endorses Greet The Day Foundational Program
In November 2024, Greet The Day achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first oncology esthetics education provider recognized by the Society for Oncology Esthetics (S4OE). This designation establishes Greet The Day as the only organization endorsed by both the Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM) and S4OE, setting a new benchmark in oncology care education.
The Society for Oncology Esthetics is a two-year pilot program operating under the guidance of the Society for Oncology Massage. Since 2007, S4OM has provided oncology massage education standards and guidelines for massage therapists. Going forward, S4OE will provide curriculum education standards for estheticians seeking oncology esthetics and oncology skin care training. Both organizations are committed to leading the field in oncology massage and esthetics while supporting the safe delivery of care to individuals living with cancer.
Why Oncology-Specific Training Matters
Oncology-trained massage and skin care practitioners share a common educational foundation addressing the clinical considerations of people living with cancer. This includes managing the effects of medications, skin conditions, fragile skin, medical devices, blood clots, and lymphedema or its risk.
Education Standards for Oncology Massage and Oncology Esthetics
The S4OM and S4OE Foundational Course Education Standards outline required curriculum elements to ensure the safe, ethical, and effective delivery of oncology massage and skin care. Education providers applying for recognition undergo a vetting process to confirm their curriculum meets these standards.
Practitioners completing foundational courses through recognized providers like Greet The Day can apply to be listed as Preferred Practitioners on the S4OM website’s therapist locator. This initiative bridges the gap between oncology-trained spa and private practice professionals and the individuals or medical professionals seeking their specialized services, enhancing the quality of care during cancer treatment and survivorship.

About Greet The Day
Greet The Day offers specialist education for licensed massage therapists and estheticians, as well as spa and hospital-based cancer patient programs. Their Oncology Skin Care program was first introduced at the International Dermal Institute, Los Angeles, CA, in 2014.
Greet The Day’s patient programs include the Oncology Spa program, launched in 2003 at Spa Gregorie’s, Newport Beach, CA, and hospital-based patient programs introduced in 2006. These initiatives provide inpatient bedside massage therapy to hospitalized patients, and hand and foot massage for patients in outpatient infusion centers receiving chemotherapy.
