Early Breakthroughs and Academic Excellence
After his initial success within the Stagelight contest, Sam’s talent continued to command the industry’s attention. In 2018, Spitfire Audio, a leading music technology company, selected him for their prestigious LABS collaboration with film composer Brendan Angelides. His composition stood out among global entries, reinforcing his reputation as a visionary artist.
Determined to continue to refine his craft, Sam enrolled at Berklee College of Music, where he majored in Screen Scoring. The college, renowned for its rich diversity of musical cultures and influences, became the perfect environment for Sam to expand his talents. Immersed in the school’s rigorous yet inspiring atmosphere, Sam had the opportunity to learn from professors and peers who analyzed compositions with precision and depth which sparked his growth as a composer.
“I learned a lot about the significance of intention, even in the tiniest of details within composition, orchestration and production/engineering. I remember countless eye-opening moments when analyzing and processing all of what is happening within a piece of music and why, regardless of genre or period.” Sam recalls.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2022, he received the Thrive Scholarship for academic excellence—a reflection of his commitment to both artistry and academics.
Expanding Horizons: Gaming and Film Scores
Sam’s expertise extends beyond traditional music composition. In 2022, he worked as a sound designer for the video game Chrono Cut, creating immersive audio experiences. The game, a 3D rogue-lite dungeon crawler, benefited from his intricate sound effects, which added depth to its storytelling.
His contributions to the film industry are equally impressive. At Igloo Music in Burbank, California — a Grammy-winning recording facility — Sam worked on notable projects, including the Academy Award-nominated film Babylon. Additionally, he served as a music editor for Jiří Mádl’s feature film WAVES, further showcasing his technical prowess and artistic sensitivity.
Collaborations with Global Brands
Sam’s creative journey also includes composing for Butter Music & Sound, an internationally renowned company crafting music for top-tier brands like Nintendo, Porsche, and Nike, as well as film releases including The Matrix Resurrections and Black Widow. His critical work within their trailer department contributed to major Hollywood projects. This role allowed him to blend his artistic sensibilities with commercial storytelling, creating compositions that resonate on a global scale.

Most recently, Sam scored the short film Water of the Will alongside director Matt Hinspeter, set to premiere at film festivals in late 2024.
