John Sower is a finance executive and history enthusiast. He lives with his wife in Bethesda, MD. He worked as a volunteer in Bladensburg, Maryland from 2009 to 2014 to help create a monument to commemorate the 1814 Battle of Bladensburg – where Americans fought and died defending their Capital. The battlefield site had been ignored and lost to history before the Monument was built.
