Recently, the China Boao International Tourism Alliance, together with nearly a thousand internationally renowned tour operators, ventured into Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, to conduct an in-depth exploration of the local cultural tourism resources and travel routes. Xiang Yong, the member of the Standing Committee of the Wangcang County Party Committee and the Minister of Propaganda, highlighted five carefully crafted boutique tourism routes during the promotion meeting, including the Red Tourism Route of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Area, the Canyon Geological and Ecological Tour, the Tea Picking and Tea Tasting Experience Tour, the Spring Flowers and Autumn Foliage Sightseeing Tour, and the Winter Wonderland and Joyful Tour. Additionally, the “Wangcang County Tourism Marketing Incentive Policy” was publicly released.
Wangcang County, located at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces, boasts abundant cultural tourism resources and holds five renowned cards: “Red City, Green Valley, Tea Town, Ancient Road, and Dinosaur”. It serves as an ecological barrier upstream of the Yangtze River and a key national ecological functional area. The natural landscapes here include representative features such as the Yanjinghe Canyon with its fault walls, the world’s geological wonder of Qianlong Eighteen Pools, the Longtan Waterfall – the tallest waterfall in Qinba Mountains, and the Drum City Mountain, known as the “Drum Under the Heaven”. The human landscapes encompass the “Four Great Cultures” represented by revolutionary culture, Han and Tang dynasties’ culture, the ancient Shu Path culture, and the Third Frontline culture. Cultural heritage sites include ruins and relics represented by the Mumen Military Conference Site, the Chinese Red Army City, and dinosaur fossils, as well as intangible cultural heritage represented by the Duan Gong Opera and Mumen Fermented Glutinous Rice. Currently, the county boasts seven nature reserves, four national 4A-level tourist attractions, one national nature reserve, one national scenic area, and one provincial forest park. It holds titles such as the Hometown of Famous Chinese Tea, the First Batch of Counties for the Protection and Utilization of Revolutionary Cultural Relics in China, the Most Influential Ecological Red Tourism Demonstration County in China, and the Famous County of China’s Forest Grain Bank.
