Drowned World Records Expands with First Physical Location at Cher Baby Vintage

Drowned World Records is thrilled to announce the opening of its first physical location at Cher Baby Vintage, a female-owned vintage mall in Seattle’s White Center neighborhood. After three years of proudly sharing music with customers primarily online, the expansion into a brick-and-mortar space marks a significant milestone for the business. Drowned World Records remains dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ customers and artists, amplifying their voices while offering a diverse selection of music across all genres for every music lover.

This year has been particularly exciting for Drowned World Records, which has broadened its offerings to include cassette tapes alongside its extensive vinyl and CD formats. As artists and labels revitalize the cassette format with unique artwork, limited editions, and colored cassettes, some of this year’s top-selling cassettes include Chappell Roan’s Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Linkin Park’s greatest hits release Paper Cuts (featuring a neon-colored case and cassette), and Charli XCX’s Brat, which continues to sell across all formats, with new editions on the way. Additionally, Drowned World Records partnered with local label Youth Riot Records to release a limited edition of wimps’ latest album, City Lights, with a few copies still available at the Cher Baby location.

“I’m so excited to be bringing more music to the White Center neighborhood,” says founder and owner Ahmad Samadi, who has been a music lover since childhood and still remembers the first vinyl he ever purchased. He looks forward to offering that same experience to others in the new location. “This opening comes at a perfect time—with some major artists releasing new music soon. We are really hoping to bring the community together for listening parties, artist signings and so much more.”
