Zoomlion Smart City’s Four Major Parks Now Fully Constructed and Operational Intelligent Parks Shape the Future of Manufacturing

On September 28, the Zoomlion Smart City Mobile Crane Park in Changsha, China, officially opened. This park houses the world’s first smart factory covering the entire manufacturing process of all components of wheeled cranes, with the capability to produce one wheeled crane every 18 minutes. With its completion, all four major equipment parks in Zoomlion’s Smart City are now in full operation, achieving a comprehensive digital transformation and upgrade to intelligent manufacturing from equipment to components.

Opening ceremony of Zoomlion Smart City Mobile Crane Park

The Mobile Crane Park spans 1,500 mu (approximately 1 million square meters), with a construction area of 440,000 square meters. The park’s construction focuses on advanced manufacturing technologies, featuring 56 intelligent production lines, including four unmanned and automated production lines and more than 500 robots. Major structural components are manufactured by robots, enabling the production of one crane every 18 minutes. The park achieves industry-leading output per unit area and per capita.

On the day of the park’s opening, Zoomlion rolled out the world’s largest 4,000-ton all-terrain crane. This crane is designed primarily for the installation of extra-large and ultra-high wind turbines on land and is the only all-terrain crane in the industry capable of meeting the installation requirements for 185-meter-high wind turbines (equivalent to lifting a 5-meter-wide, 12-meter-long and 160-ton object to the height of a 65-story building). The crane is equipped with a 10-axle all-terrain chassis with a standard width of 3 meters and features Zoomlion’s self-made heavy-duty axles, which offer the highest load-bearing capacity in the industry. This “giant” boasts multiple industry-leading features, including technological sophistication, the strongest lifting performance, the most comprehensive coverage of wind turbine installation scenarios, and the most convenient mobility between construction sites.

Zoomlion’s 4,000-ton all-terrain crane, the largest of its kind in the world.

Zoomlion Smart City incorporates over 150 industry-leading innovative technologies, bringing together 12 globally advanced smart factories, 20 unmanned and automated production lines, 300 industry-leading smart production lines, over 2,000 industrial robots, 700 plus patented production technologies, and one international standards secretariat. In this smart city, digital technologies such as intelligent scheduling, industrial AI, digital twins, and full-process smart logistics are deeply integrated with manufacturing. These enable the production of one excavator every 6 minutes, one scissor lift every 7.5 minutes, one crane every 18 minutes, and one pump truck every 27 minutes. Once fully operational, the Mobile Crane Park will become the world’s largest and most comprehensive industrial base for construction machinery.
