New children’s book released - "Grace Retraces Her Day" - the charming story of a young girl in search of a lost toy who learns some valuable lessons along the way

“Grace Retraces Her Day” by Cheryl Lock has been released worldwide. This 32-page children’s book follows young, spunky Grace, who has misplaced her favorite toy. When her mom advises her to retrace her steps, readers accompany Grace on a review of an enjoyable day in the life of a child – compromising on breakfast with her family, playing outside, and helping with chores – but she still can’t find her beloved caterpillar toy.

With her family’s help, she searches high and low. As the day begins to wane, though, she’s still distraught. Ultimately, Grace’s mom recovers the precious caterpillar while the young girl has learned valuable lessons in retracing her steps, being diligent, asking for help… And that we often find things where we least expect them.

Featuring delightful illustrations and fun rhyming language, this children’s book lets kids know that losing a favorite item isn’t the end of the world and teaches them important strategies for finding what has been lost. It also illustrates the importance of remaining calm and maintaining a positive attitude.

Much of author Cheryl Lock’s previous work — and her foray into children’s books — is inspired by her own experiences as a parent. She aims to teach young people memorable life lessons through relatable characters and situations. “Grace Retraces Her Day” is based on the real-life experience of her middle daughter, and is likely a familiar situation for parents of all backgrounds. The book’s illustrations are even inspired by the author’s family home.

This charming, lighthearted, and informative children’s book contains an endearing story and great lessons for young readers, helping everyone in the family learn from Grace’s mission to find her lost toy caterpillar.

“Grace Retraces Her Day” (ISBN: 9781963844832 / 9781965340783) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The hardcover retails for $23.61, the paperback retails for $12.21, and the ebook retails for $2.99. Review copies and interviews are available upon request.
