Punktid, the first digital product marketplace listed on Nasdaq, has announced its plans to expand into Germany. Currently operating in seven markets across Europe, the company is set to broaden its reach to German gamers.
German customers will soon be able to access the platform in their native language, benefiting from localized website content and dedicated customer support. This strategic move comes as over half (54%) of Germans regularly engage in digital gaming on PCs, gaming consoles, smartphones, or tablets.
Strategic move into Germany
“Entering the German market is a significant milestone for us,” said Hannes Niid, CEO of Punktid Technologies AS. “Estonia has a strong track record of producing innovative tech companies, and we are proud to continue that tradition. By offering our platform and support in German, we aim to provide a seamless experience that meets the expectations of German gamers.”
Germany represents a substantial opportunity for Punktid Technologies AS, given the high demand for digital gaming products. By expanding into this market, the company aims to cater to gamers seeking convenient and secure access to digital games and services in their native language.
Localizing for the German market
In preparation for the launch, Punktid is localizing its platform to cater to German-speaking users, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. The company is also exploring partnerships with local payment providers to offer a variety of payment options to its future customers.
“Customer satisfaction is at the core of our business,” added Niid. “Providing native language support is essential for building trust and delivering the best possible experience to our German customers.”
From Estonian startup to Nasdaq-listed marketplace
Founded in 2009, Punktid has grown into a leading digital marketplace in the Baltic region. Originating from Estonia—a country renowned for its vibrant startup ecosystem and the birthplace of tech giants like Skype, Bolt, and Wise—Punktid provides a platform for gamers to conveniently purchase digital products. In 2022, the company Punktid Technologies AS made history by becoming the first digital product marketplace to be listed on Nasdaq Tallinn. To date, Punktid has raised over €1.5 million in investments to support its growth and expansion efforts.
Commitment to transparency
One of Punktid’s key advantages over similar services is its commitment to transparency in operations and corporate governance. Being a publicly listed company on Nasdaq Tallinn, Punktid adheres to strict regulatory standards, providing customers and investors with clear insight into its business practices. This transparency fosters trust and confidence among users, ensuring they can rely on the platform for secure and legitimate digital products.
