2024 CCK Law School Scholarship for Veterans Winner Announced

Providence, RI – Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD (CCK), a leading public interest law firm, is proud to announce that Jasper Burns is the recipient of the firm’s $2,500 Law School Scholarship for Veterans. Burns, who served in the United States Navy with distinction following the Boston Marathon Bombing, is set to transition from a distinguished military career to the field of law.

Burns’ remarkable service history includes roles as a deployed aviator, a member of military intelligence teams, and as a White House Social Aide. His diverse experiences have equipped him with a unique perspective that he now intends to bring to the legal profession.

Since returning home, Burns has committed himself to preparing for law school while continuing to support his community. He volunteers with Service to School, assisting fellow veterans in their transition to higher education.

In addition to his legal pursuits, Burns enjoys a range of hobbies, including reading, writing, tennis, scuba diving, and flying general aviation planes—a passion that dates back to his fighter aviation days.

“At CCK, we are committed to supporting veterans, and Jasper Burns exemplifies the qualities we seek to uplift through our scholarship program. His distinguished service and dedication to community make him an ideal candidate, and we are proud to contribute to his journey as he begins this next chapter. We are confident that his unique experiences will bring invaluable insight to the legal field, and we look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish.” – Robert Chisholm

The $2,500 scholarship from CCK Law will help alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with returning to school, allowing Burns to focus on his studies and pursue internships both in the public and private sectors. As a student returning to higher education, Burns’ insights and experiences are expected to enrich his interactions with professors and peers alike.

CCK Law is honored to support veterans like Burns in their pursuit of a legal career and looks forward to following his journey as he works to translate his extensive military experience into legal expertise. Veterans and their families interested in future scholarship opportunities can find updated information on the CCK Law School Scholarship for Veterans terms and conditions page in 2025.
