Evaheld Legacy Vault: Every Story and legacy is worth sharing

We’d like to ask you to think of someone very dear to you who has passed away…

Now, imagine what it would’ve felt like to have received a video message from them – to hear their voice and see them again – as they recounted one of your favourite shared moments, and told you how much they love you…

This is just one of the things that Evaheld empowers people to do… So that one day when our kids and grandkids are sitting where we are now, they won’t need to imagine what we have to, because we would’ve gifted it to them…

Welcome to the legacy revolution, at Evaheld we’ve been at the forefront of making Legacy and Advance Care Planning easy, accessible and secure, with an all-inclusive Evaheld Legacy Vault that empowers people to future-proof their voice for better care and well-being, as well as preserve their story and legacy!

Our Community

Our community tells us it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done, bringing them peace of mind and a great sense of purpose, while recipients consistently tell us it’s one of the best gifts they’ve ever received.

But don’t take our word for it, listen to what our community has to say:

  1. Why Kurt is using Evaheld to preserve his family story and legacy

  2. Why Shelby and her Nan chose Evaheld

  3. Why Kasia uses Evaheld to guard her connections and young children

A Fully Women Founded and Award Winning Startup

In 2022, Evaheld won University of Sydney Genesis Startup Competition, and it was here the CoFounders met James Edwards, the CoFounder of Australian Unicorn Pet-Circle, who went on to become Evaheld’s Chairman and first investor.

Evaheld was also one of the recipients of only 4% of Startup Funding that went to fully female-founded startups in FY24.

Evaheld’s achievements and meaningful work have continued to be recognised with a few more awards since then, including winning the Social Impact Startup of the Year 2024 and Most Innovative Memorialisation & Advance Care Planning Business of the Year 2024, in the APAC Insider’s Australian Enterprise Awards.

Our story

Our founders Michelle Gomes & Michelle Costa volunteered this service personally for a decade before transforming it into a digital and accessible platform during the height of the covid pandemic, after someone they had promised to help passed away alone in a nursing home – their story and legacy gone forever – it was devastating.

And what prompted Michelle Gomes to begin volunteering this service in the first place was the loss of one of her closest friends to breast cancer at the age of 33, leaving two young children without the memory of their mother, prompting the creation of letters for them to receive in the future.

For Michelle Costa, her “why” is a desire to help other families preserve their loved ones’ stories and legacies when they receive life-altering diagnoses, in a way that she wasn’t able to because services like Evaheld were not easily accessible. Today she struggles to remember the sound of her father’s voice and wishes she had content of him for her kids.

And the more they shared their stories, they realised that everyone is impacted by the loss of personal and family stories and legacies, which fuels their dedication to working towards a world where connections are no longer lost, but are nurtured, maintained and everlasting.
