Epson unveils its latest solvent printing innovation, the SureColor S9170, at the Printing United Expo in Las Vegas. Distributed by Image Pro International, this new 64-inch printer sets a new standard for signage printing with its advanced 11-ink system, featuring cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan, light magenta, light black, orange, red, green, and white inks to deliver vibrant, true-to-life color output.
Building on the legacy of high image quality established by the SureColor S80600, the S9170 introduces a new green ink, expanding the color gamut by 19%. This enhancement ensures superior color accuracy and deeper tones, making it ideal for banners, signage, and other high-visibility applications.
At the core of the SureColor S9170 is Epson’s renowned UltraChrome GS3 ink chemistry, known for its durability, weather resistance, and environmental friendliness. Additionally, the previous metallic silver ink has been replaced, allowing customers to use either white ink or a cleaning solution in the 11th channel based on their production needs.
One of the most notable features of the SureColor S9170 is the introduction of a user-replaceable print head, the first of its kind in this category. This feature helps eliminate costly downtime during production, offering quick and easy maintenance to keep businesses running smoothly.
Designed with efficiency and precision in mind, the SureColor S9170 comes equipped with an all-new PrecisionCore TFP print head, LUT technology, and an improved media feed system. These advancements minimize banding, improve print consistency, and offer high productivity within a sleek and compact design.
The printer also allows for flexibility in ink usage with mix-and-match ink packs, giving users the choice between 800ml or 1.5-liter packs per color. This customization helps optimize costs and workflow to meet varying production demands.
