After experiencing the bombings of Belfast and an evacuation to a farm in Ballyweaney,  Jim returned to urban life, where he pursued an education at Balmoral Boy’s School. His career spanned various fields, from automobile engineering to bricklaying, reflecting his adaptability and love for working outdoors. Now residing in England, Jim has fostered children with his wife, Jeannine, for over forty-five years. At eighty-seven, he still engages in occasional work, dedicating his retirement to sharing his vast experiences in fostering through his writings. His commitment to family and community shines through his book, providing valuable insights for those involved in or considering foster care.
