The iconic ‘United’s Big Lily’ – a 40ft by 30 ft, 63 lbs Manchester United supporters’ flag has arrived in Los Angeles as a precursor to the club’s preseason tour which begins July 24th and includes games in LA, San Diego and Colombia. Supporters from Los Angeles Reds have already displayed Big Lily at Griffith Observatory.
First unveiled in 1998/99 season, the world-famous flag has visited 15 countries on 4 continents including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, Russia, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
Brought to life by 2 dedicated Manchester United fans, friends from opposite sides of the political divide in Northern Ireland, the name ‘Big Lily’ represents the Catholic ‘Easter Lily’ and Protestant ‘Orange Lily’.
Revered by United’s global fans, Big Lily has become a familiar sight on tours and at fan events around the world.

Manchester United’s 2024 Tour kicks off at the SO Fi stadium in Los Angeles on July 27 against Arsenal. The tour will also stop in San Diego to face Real Betis on July 31 at Snapdragon Stadium before concluding in, Colombia, South Carolina on August 3 against Liverpool at Willian-Brace Stadium. At each stop, a United’s Wee Lily ‘Flag of Friendship’ will be presented to local supporters clubs in LA, San Diego and Carolina. There are currently over 50 Wee Lily Flags, highly sought after, hand stitched flags presented to players, legends of the club and official Manchester United Supporters Clubs.
