ATLANTA – July 18, 2024 – The League of Dressmakers, the premier digital membership community for sewing, today announced a re-design of its member site for a fresh look and feel for the private, community platform. Sponsored by Whipstitch, The League of Dressmakers is excited about its upcoming 2025 ten-year anniversary and has just released ten new, exclusive garment patterns.
Members are treated to weekly videos providing garment-sewing skills and production tips, one project at a time. The community has access to exclusive garment patterns that build on one another to develop life-long sewing skills, one video and one pattern at a time.
“Our community is warm and friendly, offering a ‘bowling league’ atmosphere complete with an Annual Tournament of Stitching, the only one of its kind,” said Deborah Moebes, founder of The League. “Take The League on-boarding quiz to determine what to sew next, based on your skills.”
“Membership is open to anyone who wants to sew better,” she added. “We especially focus on members who have conquered sewing basics and want inspiration for what to sew next, based on their experience and skills, so they can grow their sewing with great results. The League supports and guides members as they are led to sew projects that introduce more advanced sewing skills, and encourages them to grow their handmade wardrobe. Members are proud of garments they can show off and really want to wear, thanks to instruction in proper sewing and fitting techniques.”
The “How to Sew Clothes” series is a video course designed specifically with members in mind. Updated content is added every Friday. Each pattern builds on previous designs to intentionally develop sewing skills while creating a wearable capsule wardrobe of core garments. Each set includes patterns that:
- Introduce new sewing skills
- Guide members to build a handmade wardrobe they want to show off
- Build on each previous pattern so members develop and move up to their next level
