Porterdale, GA – June 04, 2024 – Dr. Annise Mabry, esteemed founder of The Dr. Annise Mabry Foundation, has announced her decision to step down from the day-to-day operations of the foundation. Effective immediately, the leadership and operational responsibilities will be transferred to Lara Parker, Chair of the Graduation Committee and Patricia Barber, Director of the Rural Communities Diploma Program.
Dr. Mabry’s pioneering work in education and community development has left an indelible mark on countless lives. Her dedication to providing alternative educational opportunities and supporting marginalized communities has been the cornerstone of the foundation’s mission.
Under her guidance, the foundation has achieved significant milestones and established a strong legacy of impact and innovation.
Lara Parker, a seasoned leader with extensive experience in community development, and Patricia Barber, an accomplished program director, will co-lead the foundation into its next chapter. Their combined expertise and commitment to the foundation’s mission ensure a seamless transition and continued growth.

Patricia Barber’s deep understanding of rural education and her innovative approach to the Rural Communities Diploma Program will be invaluable assets as the foundation continues to expand its reach and impact.
