Textile colorization solution enables sustainable ESG denim manufacturing by eliminating multiple laundry cycles that waste water

SAN FRANCISCO – May 29, 2024 – NTX® Group today announced the launch of AI-powered denim manufacturing process by Cooltrans®, a proven textile colorization solution that reduces the environmental impact of denim manufacturing. Historically, manufacturing jeans has been extremely wasteful, in conservation terms. Garments are washed and then rewashed to achieve various levels of colors, a vintage look, or a certain feel to the fabric. Cooltrans® designated core technology eliminates these repeated washing cycles. The result is sustainable denim that enables garment makers to realize Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and lessen their environmental impact.

Cooltrans® was awarded two significant Top 10 Street Sports development awards from the ISPO Textrends jury. They lauded features such as quality of graphics, base layers, and lightweight polyamide ripstop fabric, as well as the energy and water savings that did not alter the creative product.

“We are excited to be introducing Cooltrans to the global fashion industry after several successful early projects with major brands,” said Charles Duan, Managing Partner of NTX Group. “We estimate that the adoption of our technology will save upwards of 80 billion cubic meters of water, which the industry consumes annually in bringing clothing to market. “

The industry has taken notice. Beginning in 2022, Adidas produced 8 million yards of material using  NTX Cooltrans, Dope Dye and No Dye. According to an Adidas’s public news release, “NTX Cooltrans is a revolutionary textile coloration solution which can accurately color synthetic materials using significantly less heat and water than more traditional processes. It offers an almost identical appearance, feel, and functional performance as conventionally dyed fabrics, and it works very much like a printer.”

NTX Group is a global textile innovation and solutions company that is devoted to the planet and future generations.
