Tampa, Florida – May 23, 2024 – Wentworth Golf Club, a picturesque championship golf course nestled in the heart of Tampa, is proud to announce its collaboration with the nonprofit organization Make 22 Zero Again for a special charity event to support veterans in need.
Designed by the esteemed architect Steve Smyers in 1990, Wentworth Golf Club boasts a seamless layout that blends with the natural terrain. Much like its sister course, the renowned Tampa gem, Old Memorial, Wentworth offers golfers an unparalleled experience combining challenging play and breathtaking scenery.
The front nine of Wentworth Golf Club provides players with a serene escape, filled with moss-covered oaks and gently rolling fairways, creating an idyllic setting free from residential distractions. Transitioning to the back nine, golfers are met with strategically placed water hazards that test their skills with demanding tee shots requiring both distance and precision. With each hole crafted to challenge players of all skill levels, Wentworth Golf Club promises an unforgettable golfing experience.
Open to the public, Wentworth warmly welcomes golfers of all levels to enjoy its world-class amenities and championship-caliber course.
On Saturday, May 25, Wentworth Golf Club will host a charity event in collaboration with Make 22 Zero Again, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and raising awareness about mental health challenges servicemen and women face. This event will not only provide participants with the opportunity to enjoy a day of golf on one of Tampa’s premier courses but also contribute to a noble cause that honors the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.
“We are thrilled to partner with Make 22 Zero Again for this meaningful event,” said Dutch Mendenhall of Wentworth Golf Club. “As a community-focused establishment, we are committed to giving back, and we believe that supporting our veterans is a cause worthy of our utmost dedication. We invite golfers from near and far to join us for a day of camaraderie, competition, and charity.”
Participants in the charity event can expect a day filled with golfing excitement, including a round of golf on the renowned Wentworth course, dinner, and a concert featuring Ryan Spencer. Proceeds from the event will go to Make 22 Zero Again to support their programs and initiatives to improve veterans’ lives.
