LinkOptimizer for Adobe InDesign Now Supports InDesign 19.4

Zevrix Solutions announces LinkOptimizer 6.2.1, a compatibility update to company’s Adobe InDesign solution for image workflow automation. LinkOptimizer solves the problem of counter-productive manual image processing and relinking by automatically reducing InDesign links size as well as converting image formats. The new update ensures compatibility with the just released InDesign 19.4, which transitions from using legacy HFS file paths to the now-standard POSIX paths on macOS.

Toronto, ON, Canada – April 26, 2024 – Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of LinkOptimizer 6.2.1, a compatibility update to company’s image workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. LinkOptimizer solves the problem of complex image manipulation tasks by automation of processing that requires precise link replacement in InDesign after image editing in Adobe Photoshop. After processing the images in Photoshop, LinkOptimizer reimports files to InDesign at 100% in their exact position.

The new version of LinkOptimizer ensures compatibility with the just released InDesign update, version 19.4. InDesign 19.4 transitions from using legacy HFS file paths to POSIX-style paths which have been the standard on macOS for years. The new LinkOptimizer update eliminates processing errors that could occur due to this change of the default path type in InDesign 19.4.

“Today LinkOptimizer batched a huge book project and another magazine project in minutes vs. hours. Now I can take the afternoon off and drink beer,” says Brian Donahue, owner of Bedesign studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. “Thanks for freeing up my afternoon, rather than doing production work.”

LinkOptimizer works with Photoshop to automatically eliminate the excess image data of InDesign links, perform essential image adjustments, and convert file formats. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

Batch-process dozens of InDesign files

• Scale and crop images to match their InDesign dimensions

• Change their resolution to 300 dpi

• Resave PNG files as TIFF

• Delete unused layers

Run a Photoshop action on each image.

As a result users can save gigabytes of disk space and numerous hours of manual image optimizing, accelerate document output, reduce job turnaround, and reduce costs through faster processing.

Pricing and Availability:

LinkOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$259.95 (Lite version: $179.95) as well as from Adobe Exchange and authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 6.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.12-14.x and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop CS6-2024.
