Mr. Jigar Joshi is an extraordinary professional with key talents in business development and computer science. After completing his Engineering degree in Computer Science in 2009, Mr. joshi secured a job offer from Argusoft India Ltd. as Programmer Analyst. He worked on many highly complex software engineering projects, ranging from J2ME-based mobile applications to iOS and Java enterprise web applications. During this time, Mr. Joshi grew from individual programmer analyst to Group Technology Lead, leading a group of engineers on multiple projects. The Government of Gujarat recognized one of the projects at Argusoft that Mr. Joshi worked on. Mr. Joshi was invited to the LDRP Institute of Technology and Research as the guest lecturer to talk about Spring frameworks. He also evangelized Java programming best practices within the organization.
While working at Argusoft India, StackOverflow was a relatively newer platform and attracted many passionate programmers. Mr. Joshi expertly contributed to StackOverflow and its gamification system attracted him to contribute more. Slowly, Mr. Joshi became one of the platform’s top contributors in the Java programming language. Mr. Joshi met another contributor from StackOverflow, and through him, he networked his next job offer from Lithium Technologies in California, USA, in 2012.
Lithium technology solved the social customer management use case for enterprises such as Google, BestBuy, PayPal, Samsung, etc. He started at Lithium as a highly skilled and expert Software Engineer, focusing on the DevOps areas. Here, Mr. Joshi focused on various software infrastructure layers, all of which were highly sophisticated and complex. These included:
– Developing tools that improve product management, operations, software build, and delivery
– Re-architecting components of the CRM product that enabled horizontal scaling.
– Increasing availability of service.
– Helped hire and set up an engineering function in Bangalore, India.
While working at Lithium, He also contributed to two other organizations in parallel:
– OWASP – Open web application security project. Here, Mr. Joshi contributed and led an “off-the-record ” project that delivers end-to-end encryption for Java apps and provides high privacy protection.
– Inclov – A dating application that was crafted for disabled people in India. Here, as an advisor, Mr. Joshi helped set up their engineering function, helped them in hiring, and set up their backend architecture.
At Lithium, Mr. Joshi grew from software engineer to lead software engineer, winning two hackathons and multiple engineering awards. Mr. Joshi was very fortunate to work with some world-class engineers at Lithium. He learned from them and grew.
In 2017, Jigar joined Uber Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer. At Uber, he worked in two software infrastructural functions, the Storage and Developer platforms. In storage, he worked on making Uber compliant with various countries’ regulations, improving security and data quality.
In the developer platform, Mr. Joshi led a team of 11 engineers. He built the application platform that powers Uber’s Java services and brought standardization in writing software driven by best practices. At Uber, in addition to these, he also contributed to other projects that improved observability and, thus, software efficiency. This enabled him to save the company a significant amount of money. Here at Uber, Mr. Joshi grew as a software engineer and tech leader. Jigar was very fortunate to work with world-class engineers at Uber Engineering.
In 2022, Jigar left Uber to join Tigris Data. Tigris was founded by Uber colleagues who are experts in core storage technologies. This was a unique opportunity for him to join as a Founding Engineer. Tigris Data aims to provide a simpler, efficient, globally distributed storage platform that solves the data layer of the software stack. Tigris is the storage platform for real-time apps. Quickly and easily store and access any amount of data for a wide range of use cases, such as cloud-native applications, and mobile apps.
At Tigris, Mr. Joshi primarily focus on security engineering, compliance, API, and SDK development.
