About the Author:
James J. Szczur, the author of the renowned book, ‘Exploring the Neighborhood Pronghorn Community’ grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, LaDonna. His 40-year professional career has been in the realm of technical leadership, systems engineering, and project management in the military-aerospace industry, including serving 20 years as an officer in the United States Air Force.
An adventurist and a scholar at heart, he is drawn to making the most of any opportunity. Professor Jim earned five master’s degrees and teaches Electrical Engineering at the Colorado Springs campus of Colorado Technical University. Professor Jim has traveled to 39 of the 50 United States and 25 foreign countries, including regions of North and South America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Out of the 29 U.S. National Parks (NP) he has visited, his favorites are Petrified Forrest NP Arizona (home of Newspaper Rock), Arches NP Utah (Ute Indian Petroglyphs), and Dinosaur NP Colorado (amazing dinosaur artifacts), each a national treasure preserving ancient Native American and wildlife artifacts.
In 2012, Professor Jim delighted in conducting field research on wallabies and kangaroos in the heart of central Australia. Fast forward to the present, Professor Jim seizes a brief but valuable chance to delve into pronghorn research right in his own Colorado Springs neighborhood.
