Everyone can have their list of best players depending on the team affiliation. However,r there’s no denying how the game today that already involves serious statistical information affects the list. Here are the top 5 best players for the NBA season 2022-2023 based on their overall performance using several statistical tools.
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
Despite only averaging 24.7 scores per game, Jokic is the best offense in the league this season. He has this unique playing style that is also pleasant to watch. Jokic has been scoring on true shooting, about 70+ percent, and has been doing the most assists. Numerous statistical tools show that Jokic has had the most impressive year so far.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
It’s been a roller coaster year for Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee Bucks. After the all-star break, Antetokounmpo scored 31.8 average per game and stayed efficient by having an average of 10 rebounds and 5 assists per game. Anyhow, he has been less efficient when Khris Middleton had to be on the bench for a while. Even so, Antetokounmpo turned it around by scoring more points.
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
The NBA seasons have been a roller coaster ride for Doncic. With going on and off being out of shape, he finally started showing the naysayers of what he can do this season. It’s not an understatement to thank Doncic for all he’s done for the Mavericks this season. After all, he managed to score a career-high 50.5% efficiency.
Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
Tatum had a somewhat rough year, haunted by the previous season’s defeat, Tatum was the reason why the Celtics have been on fire. His strong play also pushed Tatum to score 30.6 average points in a game, which was a first for any Boston player.
Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
Embiid dominated the season by leading the scoreboard. With an average of 33.1 points per game, he’s a highly productive elite. His contribution to the 76ers is obvious in the Eastern playoff. Another thing about Embiid is how he scored 10,000 career points faster than Allen Iverson.
Big names such as Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are still in the top 10 list. However, LeBron James has to see himself slip out of the top 10. It sure will be interesting to see how they thrive in the new season that will start in less than two months.
