STIWA, which has more than 2,300 employees on three continents, has broken ground on a new North American Headquarters in Rock Hill, York County.

3. Workforce Development Meets Innovation: York County remains dedicated to cultivating a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the 21st-century job market. Through partnerships with educational institutions like York Technical College as well as initiatives like the Talent Pipeline Program and the Gravity Center. These collaborations bridge the gap between education, local businesses, and students, nurturing a skilled workforce for high-tech industries, helping to ensure a promising future for our community.

Notable among these achievements are transformative project developments like The Thread, situated in Rock Hill’s Knowledge Park district. This initiative has commenced the groundbreaking process to revitalize a sprawling 400,000-square-foot historic textile mill and warehouse space, converting it into a dynamic adaptive reuse development. Additionally, SouthWood, a veteran-owned signage company known for its exceptional craftsmanship, chose to relocate to York County, underscoring the region’s thriving business environment. Will Garrison, the Chief Operating Officer of SouthWood, proudly shared that their business has experienced remarkable growth over the last six years, tripling in size. He attributed part of this success to the advantageous market conditions in York County, particularly in Rock Hill, where the company expanded its operations by establishing a new 65,000-square-foot facility to accommodate the surging demand.
