ATLANTA – Mar 15th, 2023 – Atlanta’s leading working dog company, Redemption Road K9 (RRK9) and NOBL Foods are collaborating to develop a science-based high performance study that will help evaluate the impacts of NOBL’s new light-weight, nutrient dense dog food for working dogs. The study, tentatively known as Project Working Dog, is a collaboration between NOBL Foods and Redemption Road K9, who will also be including working Search and Rescue dogs from the Georgia Community Emergency Response (GA-CERT K9) Team to their test group. The NOBL/RRK9 collaboration is designed to test K9 acceptance, preference, quantity and stool consistency, hydration, blood chemistry, and performance.
NOBL has developed a non-GMO, freeze-dried product, that does not need rehydration and removes moisture from the ingredients while retaining the flavor, texture and original aromas. Because the product is not exposed to high temperatures or high pressure, the ingredients maintain their optimum nutritional integrity. This has allowed them to produce a nutrient dense product, at a fraction of its original weight, has been shown to be more than 90% digestible and produce almost 75% less waste when compared to the average dog kibble.
Located in Atlanta, GA, Redemption Road K9 (RRK9) is a top-rated working dog company, a working dog co-op retailer, and cynology center focusing on Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI). RRK9’s objective is to create and develop goal-oriented goal-oriented and structured interventions that intentionally incorporate animals in health, education, and human services for the purpose of therapeutic gains and improved health and wellness.
GA-CERT is an organization of certified, licensed and insured volunteer emergency specialists who have received extensive training in disaster response, K9 tracking & trailing, Human Remains Recovery on both land and water and Live Area Search.
In the past, both RRK9 and GA-CERT K9 have participated in the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association’s VetSouth Fall Veterinary Conference, providing demonstration dogs to some of the top veterinarians in the world to explore new state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and training. Two of the K9s participating in this project were a part of the Emory Canine Cognition study with Dr. Greg Berns.
