She-EO Founder, Tope Fajingbesi, Joins Ashoka’s Leadership Group

WASHINGTON, DC – March 7, 2023 – She-EO (By Impact Africa Inc.) kicked off this year’s International Women’s Month with an announcement that the organization’s founder, Ms. Tope Fajingbesi has been appointed as the Global Chief Financial Officer of Ashoka.

Fajingbesi, who will leave her teaching position at the University of Maryland to take up this high-level role, is also one of the founders of United for Kids Foundation (UKF), a charitable organization, which supports children from low-income families in Nigeria. UKF is now managed by a dedicated team of Ambassadors.

Commenting on her appointment, Fajingbesi said, “I feel highly honored and grateful to have this unique opportunity to use my financial management expertise to facilitate Ashoka’s mission of identifying and supporting social entrepreneurs driving positive change all around the world. To be able to combine my passion for social impact with my technical abilities in one organization, and one role, is a privilege I hope I never take for granted.

Fajingbesi will continue to lead She-EO, which plans to host its first event of the year tagged, Goalkeeper, on March 18th, 2023.

Tope Fajingbesi is an agricultural and social impact entrepreneur, a published author, an educator, and a speaker on a mission to inspire. Her impressive career history includes roles at Andersen, PWC, a Fortune 100 energy company, The American Federation of Teachers, and The University of Maryland. Tope is an alumnus of the University of Lagos in Nigeria, Emory University in Atlanta, Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria, and the University of Oxford. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and a United States of America Certified Public Accountant.
